LKSD is participating in the Meals to You Alaska demonstration program. This is a 12-week Summer Food Service Program which will provide a 5-day meal box directly shipped to students who enroll in the program.

It's moose week at Ayaprun Elitnaurvik! Students are learning how to clean and cut moose from elder volunteers.

Our 2nd and 3rd graders contributed to a community science project sponsored by Molly of Denali. The public is welcome to a showing of student videos this Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Suurvik Cinema.

The Seawall Run will be held Friday, September 1st. Students should be at the starting point by 5:10. See below for details.

LKSD held a First Lego League qualifier this past weekend. Congratulations to the 3 teams that represented Ayaprun Elitnaurvik. The Ayaprun Sun Campers earned the Core Values Award and the Ayaprun Brick Busters earned the Innovation Project Award!

Tuesday, Dec. 20 is the last day of school in 2022. We will release on a Friday early release bus schedule--Ayaprun will dismiss at 2:30 PM on 12/20/22. School resumes January 11, 2023.

Our Winter Pageant will be held on Dec. 15, 6 pm, at the BRHS Gym.

This week (the week of October 24th), we will have Parent Teacher Conferences. Parent Teacher Conferences will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. You will be contacted by their child’s Homeroom Teacher to set up your appointment.

The Ayaprun Elitnaurvik Dancers have performed recently at the 56th annual Principal Conference in Anchorage, as well as the ASB Meeting in Bethel. We are proud of their hard work!

Long-time teacher, Ayaprun Loddie Jones, was honored today by the Thirty-Second Alaska State Legislature for 50 years as an educator and for her work championing Yup'ik language revitalization efforts.

Our last day of school for the spring semester is May 20. School resumes on August 10.

The LKSD Board of Education has approved changes to the district's COVID-19 Protocols. These changes include looking at the operational risk level of each LKSD community and updated guidance on mitigation strategies, including masking.

M.E. School and Ayaprun Elitnaurvik will be hosting Kindergarten Roundups at each school, April 13 and 14.

The Ayaprun Eagle Blimp Company was one of two LKSD lego robotics teams to advance to the Alaska FIRST LEGO League championship in Anchorage. They were awarded The Breakthrough Award for their significant progress.

We will be having a bake sale Feb. 11 to support our 6th grade promotion. Students shop 8:30-9:25; open to public at 9:30. Individually wrapped goodies welcome!

Congratulations to Ayaprun's Eagle Blimp Company who earned the Innovation Project Award and are advancing to the State FLL tournament Feb. 5th. The Ayaprun Dog Sledders also won the Engineering Excellence Award. Congratulations!

The CDC recently updated its guidance for K-12 schools, and regional school districts have received updated guidance from YKHC as well. In response, LKSD has updated their COVID-19 Protocols.

Grades 4-6 Basketball Practice begins this week, Wednesday-Friday, boys and girls.

There will be basketball open gym for 5th & 6th graders, Friday, Dec. 17 through Thursday, Dec. 23, at GJE. See below for details.

Two 6th Grade students represented Ayaprun Elitnaurvik on KYUK's Coffee Talk episode about the National Tree Lighting Ceremony happening Sunday.

Ayaprun Elitnaurvik is one of two schools selected to represent the State of Alaska on this year's White House Christmas Tree!
