Back to school

Greetings Ayaprun Elinaurvik parents,

I am excited to be the new site administrator for AE beginning this 2019/20 school year.  The staff and I are looking forward to a great school year!

I am a South Carolina native.  I have taught middle and high school in Florence, SC, Atlanta, GA and Houston, TX.

I have served in school administrative roles in Atlanta, GA, Mountain Village, AK and Kotzebue, GA.  For the Yupiit School District, I worked in a district-wide administrative role as the Director of Special Education and Assessments.

You can expect to receive weekly bulletins on Monday from the principal and class newsletters from your child's classroom teacher. Please email us or call the school at 543-1645 if you have any questions. We are here to help in anyway we can!

If you didn't not attend the mandate parent orientation, please call the school or  email stacey_wilson@lksd.org to schedule a time to review and sign the parent contract.

Thank you all for your support!

Quyana,

Stacey Wilson

Principal

Dear Community of Ayaprun Elitnaurvik,

Welcome back to school!

The normal school day, aside from Wednesday early release is:

Breakfast: 8:00-8:30

Lunch: (K-2, 11:30-12:00; 3-6, 12:00-12:30)

K-2: 8:30-2:45

3-6: 8:30-3:30

welcome to join us!

I would like to give a warm welcome to Tamara Trefon, our new 1st grade teacher.

As has been past practice, the front gate to the classrooms will be closed until 8:25. If you need to see your child’s teacher or the front office, please enter and have your student wait in the lobby area. Please remember Yugtun Kingaan (Yugtun only) in the downstairs classroom area. Please speak quietly if you need to speak in English. Quyana for your help with this!

In closing, I am looking forward to working with you and your students as we work toward a successful school year.

Just a quick update regarding our search for our open associate teacher position in 1st grade. The site personnel team and myself are  in the search for a teacher to fill this position,  as soon as there are any updates, I will send out another letter to the community.  We are  fortunate  to have former associate teacher and long time teacher aide Christine Owens fill in on a temporary basis.

Sincerely,

Stacey Wilson, Ed. S
